Burning Hadith
Question:
Is it true according to some sahi hadith, khulf-e-Rashadeen ordered to fire the stuff of hadith?
Is there any authentic script of hadith available from the regime of sababa?
Answer:
We know that many of the close companions of the Prophet (pbuh) - like the Prophet (pbuh) himself - did not encourage collecting Hadiths and extensive narration of Hadiths, fearing that it may get mixed up with the Qur'an.
However, as far as I have seen none of the Hadiths about the first two Khalifs burning Hadith are authentic. These Hadiths are not trusted by many of the scholars of Hadith and are not narrated by the more reliable sources of Hadith. If you are interested in any specific Hadith with this regard please do let me know and I will analyse its degree of reliability for you.
I am not aware of any authentic script of Hadith available from the time of the companions.
