Intelligent creature other than GOD
Question:
I had a discussion with one Christian brother, he believes not in God but some form of intelligent creature (he used word Alien) who is running the world as an experiment and is super genius with all the characteristics of God. Now all the characteristics, i tell him about God he says why cant this be available in an Alien. I told him that if it was the case most likely case there will be a nation of aliens and as Quran says if there were more than 1 God there would not have been peace in the world. He says why are you underestimating Alien's mental level may be they have achieved that level of not fighting or have reached to a level where everyone has his own world. How can we tackle this thing. Though I feel if he believes in accountability (which he does to an extent) does it make a difference he is calling God an Alien?
Answer:
I think you have answered your own question at the end of your writing and that is my answer as well.
When I read the Qur’an I find that God is actually very pragmatic, He is not bothering too much about the theory. He reveals to us that among Sabians, Jews, Christians and Muslims (despite all the theoretical differences among them), whoever belief in God and the hereafter and does righteous things, will be safe.
It would have been wonderful if your friend could appreciate the one God, however if his way of thinking makes him intellectually more comfortable to replace God with an Alien or Aliens, then as far as he does have an observant attitude to his concept of God and therefore tries to be a righteous person in this world, insha’Allah he will be okay.
Of course if an opportunity can come to bring the concept of God, as we understand it, to his attention, then this opportunity should be taken. To start with, it is interesting to see what will be his answer to the question: “who created those aliens?”.
