Making Pictures of Prophets

Question:
When I searched about Hazrat Musa I saw a drawing of him.
Is this permissible.
Please tell me a hadith too

Answer:
I am not aware of any evidences that makes drawing or acting as a prophet of God to be haram. We do not need hadith to prove something is permissible. If you have heard a hadith or know a verse of the Qur’an that implies this being forbidden then please let me know and I will study it and comment.

You will see that normally the opposing arguments are on the basis of preserving respect for the prophets. This is of course a matter of opinion and thus cannot bring us any religious obligations. This is why you see many paintings of the prophet (pbuh) being available throughout the history of Muslim scholarship without these necessarily being condemned by all scholars as an obvious haram.

I personally fail to understand how painting or acting as a prophet per se implies disrespecting that prophet. The person of Jesus (pbuh) has been painted and acted throughout the history and what I see is that it has enhance his respect and love in the heart of many Christians and has also been influential in converting many to Christianity.
