Making Up the Missed Fasts

Question:

According to Quran there is no compensation for missing a fast in both case intentionally or unintentionally and in all cases one have to complete the missing ones when he/she can. I want to know is this rule apply on all those who are very old like 80plus, and their physical condition cannot bear the roza?

Answer:

For those who have excuse (being in travel or being ill) an initial directive in verse 2:184 gave two options, that is, either making up the missed fasts or feeding the poor for each missed fast.

Then verse 2:185 abrogated the verse 2:184 and took away the option of feeding the poor, only allowing making up the missed fasts.

It makes sense that if a person, due to his physical conditions, cannot make up his missed fasts at any time in future then he should follow the initial directive in verse 2:184, that is, feeding a poor for each missed fast.
