Nikah After Divorce
Question:
A relative of mine took divorce from her husband couple of years back. They have a grown up child. The lady now realises that she had made a mistake and wants to be back with her ex-husband and her son. Can she join her husband by solemnizing the Nikah again. Her ex is also inclined to do that for his son's sake. Can they do that? Please advise.
Answer:
The only situation where the ex-husband and the ex-wife cannot remarry after divorce is when the husband has announced divorce (within one marriage contract) in three separate times. In this condition the woman can remarry with her husband only after marrying another man and being divorced by him (in all honesty, that is, without planning ahead).
From your question I can understand that the above situation did not occur. Assuming my understanding is correct then I do not see why the two of you cannot marry again.
