Where Have You Been?
Blood started running fast in the veins on your face, you could feel it, it was happening again, a going, or rather a coming, a presence, a presence so charming that while it comforted you, it did not take away the wonderful feeling of being alone. A presence so precious that you began to miss it even before it departed.
You can now feel a heat on your forehead, a heat that does not bother, but brings confidence. Your eyes are staring but you are not looking. Your ears are hearing but you are not listening. Your brain is still processing but you are not thinking. You can feel the flow of the most magnificent water under your feet while a precious breeze caresses your ears. You feel the pressure of that presence on your body and within, you tremble. The pressure, however is also enjoyable and the trembling, ironically brings you a unique feeling of security.
You know that all that happened is now a story of the past. Everything ends at this moment, or rather; everything starts again from this moment. You whisper the words slowly and patiently, knowing that you are being listened to attentively. Words find colourful meanings when you utter them, each word opening a new horizon. You could stop at each word if you wished, just to repeat it over and over again, to get the most out of it but you know that you need to carry on. Every word, in fact, every letter that comes out of your mouth returns to your heart with an answer. You are not a sole speaker here, this is definitely a dialogue! This is a dialogue in which you hear more than you say and you receive more than you offer.
A moment of silence follows, then you look at your right; the world is illuminated, everything is smiling at you, as if saying, "we know, yes we also know, we are in this together, see how wonderful it can be, do not forget these moments, do not …", you look over your left shoulder, nothing is the same, all those grey colours have turned into green, all those unachievable heights now look so small, so achievable; all the noise has turned into a soft melody. You say for the second time: "peace to you” and the whole world replies back, "and peace to you!"
This is the end of one of your five daily prayers; you now look forward to the next one.
