Wine in Food

Question:In the USA many of the food is prepared in wine and beer, for example salmon and other sea food.
What is your opinion, is it halal?

Answer:
What is haram is intoxicate. If the food is cooked enough so that its intoxicating effect is perished, then it is halal for consumption. You can ask yourself a simple question, if one (theoretically) eats so much of this food, is there any chance for the one to become drunk? If you think the answer is yes, then you need to avoid it, even if it is a very little amount, otherwise you may consume it.
