Working in Gambling Industry

Question:
I would like to ask, working in gaming industry (casino) in accounting department, where I do daily reconcilation of paperwork which comes through gaming activity. In Islam is it Hala to work or I should refrain from this Job. Your help is appreciated. Jazakallah Khair.

Answer:
In principle any activities that directly relate to a Haram act should be avoided. Therefore you should refrain from working in a gambling industry.

There is however one practical reservation here. If you need the money for your livelihood and you cannot find any other sources of income other than what you mentioned (that is not gambling itself, but working in a gambling industry), then you may temporary continue working there. However you should attentively and seriously looking for alternative sources of livelihood and you should switch as soon as there is an opportunity, disregard of how the two salaries compare to each other. If this is the case then I also suggest that you pray to the Almighty regularly to open an opportunity for you.
