- Is God Sadist (Further Follow Up: Honest Polytheism)?
Question:
Dear Sir!
If a muslim do Shirk and someone try to rectify him but he could not understand the truth and he thinks what he is doing is right then he will go to heaven while doing the shirk?
Answer:
No he will not go to heaven while doing Shirk. If he was genuinely unaware of the fault in his understanding, then with the blessing and Rahmah of the Almighty he may go to heaven after Shirk is removed from his heart.
Please deliberate on the underlined section of the following verse:
Surely those who conceal any part of the Book that God has revealed and take for it a small price, they eat nothing but fire into their bellies, and God will not speak to them on the Day of Resurrection, nor will He purify them, and they shall have a painful punishment (2:174)
The implication of the above is that there will be people who will enter the heaven after God purifies their heart from any false.
In my understanding, this does not just apply to the case you mentioned (honest false belief), but it has a much wider application. Many of us manage to enter some dirt and evil in our hearts. We will not take this with us into heaven because that will defeat the purpose of heaven. God with His grace will clean our heart from this dirt first and then send us to heaven. This is of course with the assumption that we have not corrupted our heart so much that it does not deserve to be cleaned by the Almighty.
So in fact what we have are two stages of purification:
A.Purification in this world as the result of following the religion of the Almighty (look at verse 3:164).
B. Further purification in the hereafter for many of us to be good enough to enter the heaven and get as close as possible to the Almighty
Those who arrogantly reject the first opportunity of purification (in this world), according to the Qur'an, do not have much hope for the second opportunity for purification.
