Why Miracles?
Question:
My limited understanding after reading the Quran is that Quran is encouraging people not to rely on miracles but to deliberate on signs in the universe, in ourselves and seek divine knowledge to seek the Truth. My query is Why do prophets then perform miracles. for those who believe do so without seeing them and the ones who await miracles will not any way.

I would like to add and change a few words in the above to make it close to my understanding of the same subject:
"Quran is encouraging people (at the time of the Messengers) not to rely (only) on miracles but to deliberate on signs in the universe, in ourselves and seek divine knowledge to seek the Truth (where these could be easily enough for them to be convinced)."
If you disagree with the above understanding of mine then please let me know why. If you agree then I think your question is not applied any more.

I do not agree with the above, I think the categorization is more extensive than the above:
- those who believe without seeing miracles
- those who believe after seeing miracles
- those who believe but still like to see miracles
- those who reject the truth, disregard of miracles
We have examples of the above groups in the Qur'an and the Hadith.
